INTRO_dialogo tra i luoghi [INTRO_dialogueamongplaces]. In this present operation, conceived ad hoc for the spaces of the 1500s Palermitan oratory of San Lorenzo and promoted by the Friends of Sicilian Museums on the occasion of the 9th Day of Contemporary art AMACI, the relationship with place is investigated by a nucleus of six artists: Christian Boltanski, Antonio Freiles, Anna Guillot, Luciana Rogozinski, Maurizio Ruggiano, Peter Wüthrich.The concepts of “place” and “space” have always been the subject of countless writings and today more than ever are fields of action investigated for the relative, problematic and crucial extensions. The meaning of “place”, in the case of this exhibition, is therefore circumscribed, although variously extended. Here, in GiacomoSerpotta’s chapel, the Baroque triumph next to the oratory, Place is the INTROibo that Antonio Freiles carries out introducing the Chartae and the books intended as “space within the space” (“the dialectic operation page/book, book/installation, installation/architecture”). With a different function compared to the progression of the exhibition, another INTROduction is the arrangement by Luciana Rogozinski where the Place is a space of semantic interaction (“the conceptual arrangement where the place is the paradoxical space determined by the angelic substance of the abstract image”). Place is “person” in the INTROspection that Anna Guillot (“the infinite reversibility and proliferation of opposites that converge in the place of a name and a face”), and Maurizio Ruggiano (“the laceration of the idea of place: the visible progression of the figure and the invisible spaces of the voices”) carry out, respectively between photography and video, within the self as in the dialogue with the Absolute. Place is city in the INTROmissioni, Angels in Cimiano, Madrid and Paris – as well as in Sicily before long – of Peter Wüthrich (“a project with anthropological implications, defined in a set of video–photography works rendered on paper as well”). A lateral place is that of the 10 artists’ books by Christian Boltanski (“the tragic reminiscence product of History”), which the KoobookArchive/Lab_KA has provided, for a space/time meaning intended as a peculiarity of the work on the book.The closing finissage exhibition envisages the presentation of a “photofolio” of documentation with texts by Anna Guillot and Luciana Rogozinski (published by KoobookArchive).
